United Consumers Credit Union is dedicated to improving the communities we serve.
We are proud to support the following programs and organizations.
UCCU $1,500 Scholarship Program
Each year, United Consumers Credit Union awards two $1,500 scholarships to qualifying student members pursuing higher education. To be eligible, members must be a member in good standing, age 17 or older and plan to attend a college or other accredited postgraduate program. Recipients will demonstrate a balanced combination of academic achievement, strong work ethic, educational, social and civic involvement, and strong character. We've announced our recipients for the 2025-2026 academic year, but check back in January 2026 for an application!
Buckle Up Phone Down
United Consumers Credit Union is proud to be a Gold Standard Partner for MoDOT's 'Buckle Up Phone Down Challenge' campaign. We care about the safety of our members and the communities we serve. The challenge is simple: when you get into any vehicle, buckle up your safety belt. If you're the driver, put the cellphone down. Every trip, every time! We encourage everyone to take the challenge.
Kansas City Monarchs
We are a sponsor of the area's American Association baseball team for the 2025 season! They’re committed to Wyandotte County and the Kansas City area as a whole, just like we are. Plus, we’re giving you exclusive opportunities to win tickets to Monarchs games! Keep an eye on our social media, and watch your inbox for all the details.
Northwest Communities Development Corporation
We are a proud partner of this organization that is dedicated to the enrichment and revitalization of northwest Independence through affordable housing, social and recreational activities, job training and transportation. Their programs focus on seniors, youth, housing, public safety and public service.
Truman Heartland Community Foundation
In March, United Consumers Credit Union donated $640 to the Truman Heartland Community Foundation. Over the 2019-2020 NFL season, team donated $10 for the privilege of being able to wear jeans and a Kansas City Chiefs shirt. The credit union matched team donations. We believe it helped the Chiefs win big, but we also helped a great cause.
